I hope everyone is enjoying and having a wonderful summer. As President of EMBCA (East Mediterranean Business Culture Alliance) I am thrilled and excited about this year’s events which will be starting again shortly. If in New York please join me on Thursday, September 7th, 2017 at St. Peter’s Church at Citicorp Center ( 619 Lexington Avenue at 54th Street) , for EMBCA’s first exciting event of this fall calendar with “The Hellenic Rembetika and Turkish Music Concert” In Association with the Turkish American Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TACCI) with the Turkish and International Music Ensemble, Inc. (http://www.timeusa.org/ ). It will be a first of its kind event in New York. Music is universal in nature and we have fashioned a unique evening of musical bridge building and discovery in an authentic Hellenic Rembetiko ensemble led by Julie Ziavras vocalist/musical director ( a http://www.kenandjulie.com/Julie’s%20bio.htm ) and a Turkish international music ensemble led by Musical Director Nedim Katgi an international musician, entertainer & singer.
Julie’s family was from the Perivolia (where she still maintains property) and my grandmother Barbara (Zavra) Katsou was from this family. Julie Ziavras will be joining me at the Katsos Clan Reunion on August 20 in Neohori (above Dyrahhi) in Arcadia.
